Software Engineer: User Interface

We are looking for a pragmatic dreamer to help us build the user experience that powers Blaast. You'll be working in designing the core user interface and applications millions of users will have access to. You have the opportunity to redefine how people interact with the content they care about, and how Blaast helps them get connected with their friends, their ideas and entertainment, anywhere they are.

Passion for building a great product is a must. You'll be supported by a great team of design and product oriented people that believe mobile is and will be part of everyone's lives.

We're building a purely Javascript based platform, bringing many concepts from web development to the mobile space. Previous experience with Javascript is a plus but not a requirement. We believe in keeping on learning new technology, and expect that you do, too.

Your responsibilities

• Implementing the core Blaast user experience.
• Designing the core user interface libraries -- making sure others can re-use our vision.
• Ensuring our product is accessible to millions of people, across the world.

Our mobile framework was built in-house, and designed to resemble the familiar web model. Applications are written in Javascript, both client and backend parts, supported by the Blaast platform. Our backend is implemented in Scala, Java and Javascript (node.js). Our code sits in a Git repository and our philosophy is to automatically deploy after any incremental improvement. The team is extremely familiar with Javascript, mobile platforms and high-scale software platforms. We often use existing open source software but are not afraid to build the tools to support our vision.
